The Story Behind Pepita: How My Daughter Inspired It All

The idea for Pepita started in my kitchen one night while trying to cook dinner for my daughter.

She had just started solids, and what should have felt simple suddenly felt surprisingly complicated. I found myself researching everything — what foods she could have, what spices were okay, what I should avoid, and what would actually taste good to her.

I wanted her meals to be flavorful and interesting. I wanted her to experience real ingredients and develop a love for different foods early on.

But every time I went to season something, I felt like I had to start the research process all over again.

Was garlic okay?
What about paprika?
How much salt is too much?
Is this spice too strong?

And that’s when the idea clicked…

Why am I doing this every single time?

Why isn’t there something that already has all of this figured out?

Something made specifically for babies and toddlers.

A seasoning blend.

Everything thoughtfully combined in one place, ready to sprinkle onto whatever I was making.

No second guessing.
No standing in the kitchen wondering if something was “okay.”

Just real flavor, ready to go.

That small moment turned into Pepita.

What started as a simple solution for feeding my daughter has become something I now use every single day. Honestly, I can’t imagine cooking without it anymore.

And the funny thing is, my daughter ended up becoming such an adventurous eater.

She eats salmon.
She loves olives.
She happily tries things that even some adults can’t handle.

Watching her enjoy so many different foods reminded me how capable little eaters really are when we give them the opportunity to experience flavor.

Now that she’s older, she asks for Pepita when we’re sitting down to eat. Veggie Basket and Sunny Salmon are her favorites and she requests them almost every time we make a meal.

Pepita was created to make mealtime easier for parents and more exciting for little eaters.

Each blend is made with gentle flavor combinations designed to complement everyday foods — vegetables, eggs, fish, grains, yogurt, oatmeal, and so much more.

My hope with Pepita is that it removes some of the guesswork from feeding your little one. That instead of worrying about seasoning, you can simply focus on sharing meals together.

One sprinkle, and you’re good to go.
